Horse head bolo tie tip earrings from Zuni artist, Juan Qualo. Pieces were modified into earrings and inlaid with natural stones in sterling silver.

The Stones: Turquoise and Mother of Pearl

  • 2 pieces of Turquoise
  • silver detailing along bottom

The Piece: Handmade Stone Inlay Earrings (modified from bolo tie tips)

  • .925 sterling silver, solid, with 14kt white gold, handmade earring wires
  • dimensions: 37.15mm (1.46") length inlcluding wire x 17.06mm (0.67") wide x 2.81mm (0.11") thick
  • total weight of earrings: 6.48 grams

 

About The Artist

Zuni Artist and Silversmith, Juan Qualo is a renowned master stone cutter known for intricate, high-quality stone-to-stone and channel inlay jewelry. He is recognized often for his quail motifs and detailed stampwork. Associated with the renowned Qualo family, his work represents traditional Zuni stonework techniques.
