A Yowah Nut Boulder Opal Pendant in 14kt Yellow Gold
The term "Yowah nut" refers to a variety of opal from the Queensland, Australian town of Yowah. Opal forms in sphereical shaped ironstone matrix that is then cut in half and polished, similar to a geode. The stone in this handmade pendant displays a pearlescent pocket of opal around the center with bright red and green sparkles in surrounding ironstone veins.
